Whistler Mountain...
Well this is our very first "ski mountain" - Summer Mountain bike ride. Picture three old retirees, going up this mountain. The lift loading areas full of young bikers, complete with full armour and full suspension bikes, going up the mountain... then you have three old guys with they regular mountain bikes, all hardtails, only one with disk brakes, no armour, regular bike helmets.
We asked at the ticket area, what the easiest way down?.. she said just ask the tour-guide at the top of the first lift station, he will give you instructions.
Well here we stood at the lift loading area... the only three old guys with "street gear" in the entire pack of bikers.
The ride up as great,,, lots to see...
We off loaded at the top of the first lift station... found the tour-guide / information guy, and said...
"We are going to the top of the mountain... what is his recommendation on trails to get down." He looked at us, with a smile and stated... with your type of bikes and no armor, you guys are NOT going up ... you are going down from here.

He recommended the easy way out... well that was some ride down... extremely difficult and nerve racking... but we made it!
After a few beer / drink courage, we decided to tackle the mountain one more time. We did... without mishap. :)
