Riding Biography

Rode bicycles and motorcycles for most of his life, He has a 29 year old Canondale mountain bike, which he still uses on occasion and has a completely restored 1974 750 Honda.

He is self-taught over fifty years of riding.

He prefers mountain bike trails with a bit of technical areas, gravel trails, and dikes bike trails,
dislikes narrow wooden bridge and rocks.

Rick entered his first Golden Ears Gravel Fondo in 2018, finishing 78th out of 138 contestants. Being almost 70 years old & riding a 28-year-old Canondale mountain bike, against youth and carbon fibre is not bad at all eh!

His preference is for a good work-out, with a goal to see his reduced time over distance.

Rick is a volunteer for the Community Bike Patrol using his fully decked out (lights, bags, first aid, etc.) Haibike.

In addition, he has a full suspension Cube Bike for his recreational adventures.
